Blue Eyes Cryin in the Rain.
The first recording of "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" was by Elton Britt in 1946. However, it was made popular by Roy Acuff's version in 1947, many others have since recorded it, Crystal Gale, Willie Nelson but to name a few.

Переглядів 5821 день тому
The song "It's Almost Tomorrow" was written by Gene Adkinson (music) and Wade Buff (lyrics). They actually wrote it in 1953 when they were in high school. The most successful version of the song was recorded by The Dream Weavers (a group that included Adkinson and Buff) for Decca Records in 1955. Their version became a major hit, reaching the top 10 on various charts.

Brilliant, swingy two step composed by Bert Shorthouse for One of the many fabulous characters on Scottish radio of the past. He's a Scottish music programme on Radio Clyde ? Could only get that up here in the winter in those days when we just had AM transistor radios. Anyways it was great crack and he always had this jingle BEWARE OF THE TARTAN TERROR ! Own up folks who's old enough to remembe...
Absent Friends ( Slow Air ) By Allan W Smith

Most musicians I'm sure will agree that you compose your best tunes through emotion, and I'm sure this is certainly true in this instance. My friend Allan W. Smith composed this gorgeous slow air, so I thought I'd try and make a nice arrangement. Hope it meets with your approval Allan ? Orchestral backing and melody were played on the Tyros 5 keyboard, and my accordion this time is, again, the ...
Forty Shades of Green

Johnny Cash wrote "Forty Shades of Green" in 1959 during a trip to Ireland. It was first released as a B-side in 1961 and later included in his album "Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash" in 1963. I heard on an interview years ago he got the place name by sticking a pin in a map. 😂 Done that too. Hope you enjoy my version recorded on the Tyros 5 Keyboard.

Decided to give this tune another airing. I still miss my dear friend Sylvia Barber, who the tune was named after, and the music & the laughs we shared. Thanks to the late Derek Hamilton for providing all the backing on the video. All the clips are from Capcat.

Gerry was the 'Tartan Terror', (as opposed to terrorist), he later had a programme on BBC Radio Scotland which ran for some years. He used to play my father's songs on his show. My father appeared by phone on the show, and I still have the interview.. He used to give a wee shoogle of his 'Tartan tablets'.. (don't ask..). I often wonder what happened to him? Nice playing! .
